Step Five - Driving Targeted Traffic to Your New Squeeze Page
So, your squeeze page is setup, you have a one time offer in place and you understand the importance of keeping in contact with your list using your auto-responder. Now, all that is left is to drive lots of traffic (visitors) to your squeeze page. It's important that you understand that traffic is everything. You can have the best product in the world, but if you don't put it in front of people, you'll never make any money. There are two ways to drive visitors to your page: free traffic and paid traffic. I would suggest that you use a combination of both. Don't be scared off by the word "Paid". Think of this as an investment. If you have been using the methods in this manual, you've probably made some money already. Why not invest that money back into your business by purchasing a little bit of paid traffic? Getting free trafficThere are one million and one ways to get free targeted traffic. I'm just going to touch the basics here. There are so many free manuals about getting traffic, that it would be a waste of time to spend too much effort on this subject. Forum PostingIf you join forums that have to do with the subject of your product, you can drive traffic to your squeeze page. For instance, if your squeeze page is offering a free Internet Marketing report, join a few Internet Marketing forums and start making helpful posts. Eventually, you'll be able to add a link to your squeeze page in your forum signature. If your posts are helpful and you are an honest member of the forum, people might see your signature link and visit your squeeze page. The best part about this is that they are completely targeted, because they come from a forum that is related to your product. Blog CommentingFinding relevant blogs and commenting on the blog posts is another great way to drive free traffic. All you need to do is jump onto Google and search for your topic plus the word "blog". Google will basically automatically return the most popular and powerful blogs. Go through and read a few of the posts and leave a few useful comment that add to the conversation. When you write a comment, most blogs will allow you to give your name and a link to your website - make sure that you enter your squeeze page as your website URL. So, when your comment shows up, your name will be a link to your squeeze page. If your comment is helpful or thought provoking, people might click on it and visit your squeeze page. Once again, since they're coming from a blog related to the topic of your squeeze page, they are highly targeted. Article MarketingThis is a method where you write short informational articles of about 500 words on the topic of your squeeze page. You will then submit them to article directories around the Internet. These article directories will allow you to leave a link back to your website at the bottom of your article. When people read these articles, if they find the information helpful or interesting, they might click the link at the bottom. As long as you point the link back to your squeeze page, this traffic will be highly targeted and free. Safe listsA safe list is a collection of email addresses of people that have agreed to receive marketing email messages from other members. In turn, they are allowed to mail other members on the list as well. A safe list can be very useful because you don't have to spend time building up a targeted list of e-mail addresses. You can just join a safe list and send out your advertising message. The best part is that it won't be considered SPAM because people have agreed to receive these messages. However, the effectiveness of safe lists can certainly be argued. Members of safe list services receive thousands of e-mail messages, so it's hard to say how many they actually take a good hard look at. Paid trafficThere are only a few methods of paid traffic that I would recommend. I spend most of my time and efforts targeting free traffic methods. But, if you have some money to spend, paid traffic methods can be very useful and convenient. Google AdWordsHave you ever noticed the "Sponsored Results" on every search results page of Google? Those are the ads of people that are part of the Google AdWords program. They are called Pay Per Click (PPC) ads. Advertisers create an advertisement and tell Google what search results pages they want to show up on. They then tell Google how much money they are willing to spend every time someone clicks on their ad. The system will then put ads on the search engine results page according to who is willing to pay the most money per click. As long as you target searches that are highly targeted to the topic of your squeeze page, you can build up a massive list very quickly. The only problem is that it can get very costly if you don't know what you're doing. There is nowhere near enough room here for me to explain everything about Google AdWords. So, if you're interested in it, I suggest checking out a few tutorials about how to use it effectively. Resource: www.adwords.google.com BidVertiserThis is a another pay per click advertising system. BidVertiser does not show ads on search engine results pages. Rather, they show ads on the websites of people who have agreed to display them. You're still able to choose the types of websites that your ads show up on, so the traffic will still be targeted. Once again, there's not enough time to go over how to create an effective ad with a pay per click service. So, do some more research before you start spending money.
