Choosing an ad network

Once you have chosen an ad network and created an account for one we can continue to the next step... putting your ads on your Tumblr blog.

Adding the ads to Tumblr

So, almost 2 weeks later... I have about 400 followers now which of course is great :)

But now we are going to monetize our Tumblr blog, we are going to monetize it by the ad network you've chosen but I'm going to use Adsense.

1. Go to your ad network (www.adsense.com)
2. Log in
   
   
3. Once logged in, head over to the "My ads" section of the webpage.
4. Click on: "Create new ad unit"
5. Choose a small ad unit for horizontal. I've picked: 468*60 pixels as the horizontal banner. Make sure it's about this size.
6. Fill the form in like below:
   
   
7. Click the Get Code button and save the code in a WordPad document (or something similar).

Now we want to redo the same things but then with a vertical banner. I have chosen the skyscraper banner. It's 120*600 which makes it great for our Tumblr blog.

1. Now we are going to paste the ads into our blogs.
2. Login to Tumblr Click on Customize
3. In the Description you want to place the HTML codes. NOT IN THE HTML EDIT SECTION!!! It should look like:
   
   
4. Of course, put the horizontal banner above and the vertical banner underneath it.
5. After a few days the ads will appear on your Tumblr blog and the revenue will start to flow in.

REMEMBER: DO NOT (LIKE NEVER) CLICK ON YOUR OWN ADS!!! THIS WILL GET YOU BANNED!!!
